ELVIS AARON PRESLEYElvis Aaron Presley was born January 8, 1938 in Tupelo, Mississippi. Elvis sang in the Assembly of God choir. At age ten, Elvis won a school singing contest and he taught himself the principles of the guitar. Elvis' family is very interesting. His parents are Gladys and Vernon. Jesse Garon, Elvis' twin brother, was stillborn. The Presley family is extremely poor. All of his family is extremely religious. The church rejoiced in African-American songs. In high school, Elvis Presley was extremely shy. He was in a lot of fights. He also won a talent show in his senior year of high school. Elvis got a lot of attention after winning the talent show. He was invited to parties every weekend and sang a song to anyone who would listen. After graduation, Elvis became a truck driver. He made $1.25 an hour. He kept little of the money he earned and gave most of it to his parents. The middle of his life was the most success part of his life. Love Me Tender was the first of his 33 movies to be made. Elvis was in the United States Army from 1958-1960. Elvis made his last chart - climbing single in 1969. Elvis: Aloha From Hawaii was broadcast to over a billion people in 1973. Elvis and Priscilla were married soon after the birth of their daughter Lisa Marie. After six years of marrage, Priscilla divorced Elvis. Elvis had a lot of jobs before and after his successfulness. Also in 1953, he was studying to be an electrician. He was recording privately and later became a singer. He recorded a lot of songs. Some songs include "Heartbreak Hotel" and Hound Dog. Others include "Don't Be Cruel" and "Let Me Be Your Teddy Bear" and "All Shook Up". Elvis performed in a lot of places. He toured the Hillbilly Cat. He performed on a radio station in Shreveport, Louisiana. Elvis released his first record with Sun Records. His pelvic gyrations on Talk of the Town and Stage Show were considered so great that Elvis was known from the waist up. Elvis starred in many movies and T.V shows. He starred in Stage Show with Jackie Gleason and in Talk of the Town with Ed Sullivan. Elvis seriously abused drugs. Elvis first started out smoking. He lived in Graceland when using drugs. He was also overweight. Elvis Aaron Presley died on August 16, 1977 because of a heart attack. He was only 42. Elvis made a huge impact on the world.
