EUTHANASIA
Like a misguided arrow
Sailing the seas of pain
Falling down, to drown in the sadness
And hollowness of the blackness of life
Faded and dusty is all my glory
Tread by a million feet before 
Lies my bed of roses
And the stink of defeat is thick in the air
the loss is unbearable
The sea of sorrow engulfs me
Like I was its own
And pierces me with needles of ice
What can I do but scream
And scream too in my dream
The reality I envisaged 
Has blown right out of my hands
The wind has snatched from me
The last shreds of hope
And I lie here
Like a broken skeleton in the sand 
Waiting for the promised death
To free my soul from the pains
Of a body old and withered
Maybe it is better
Sometimes they say
They call it mercy killing.
